Pumpkin Cake

This is a very moist cake that is wonderful made with pumpkin or squash.

  • 1 cup(s) Sugar
  • 1 cup(s) Brown Sugar
  • 2 Egg(s)
  • 1 cup(s) Pumpkins
  • 4 teaspoon(s) Baking Powder
  • 0.5 cup(s) Shortening
  • 0.25 teaspoon(s) Baking Soda
  • 0.5 cup(s) Milk
  • 1 cup(s) Walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon(s) Vanilla Extract
  • 3 cup(s) Cake Flour

Directions


Cream shortening and slowly add sugar, eggs and pumpkin (or squash). Sift together flour, baking powder and soda; add alternately with milk to mixture. Fold in nuts and vanilla. Pour into 3 greased 8” layer cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes. Cool and frost before serving.
