🌼 Marigold Planting Event by the Little Red Barn (located under our Farm Share tent)

Plant your own marigold! Great for children and families looking to take part in a hands-on seasonal activity!
Join a Pollinator Story Time at 11:00 am or 1:00 pm

Activity Description:
Celebrate the start of the growing season with a hands-on planting experience that connects participants to the environment through sustainable growing practices. Guests will transplant an 8-week-old marigold seedling while learning how small actions—like planting flowers—support pollinators and promote a healthier ecosystem.

What Participants Receive:

  • Guided, step-by-step transplanting instruction 
  • Nutrient-rich growing medium 
  • A 4″ organic, eco-friendly, compostable container
  • One 8-week-old African Giant Marigold ‘Xochi Orange’ plant 
  • A take-home growing and care guide 

What They Will Learn:

  • How to transplant seedlings using earth-friendly methods 
  • The importance of soil health and compostable materials 
  • How marigolds support pollinators and beneficial insects 
  • Simple ways to care for plants sustainably at home 

🌱 Participants will leave with their own planted marigold and the knowledge that even a single flower can make a positive impact—supporting pollinators, beautifying spaces, and celebrating our shared responsibility to care for the Earth.
