Full Time - Accounts Payable Clerk
Job Description: The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for AP invoice validation, entry processing and payments made to vendors. This includes matching packing slips with their invoices, reviewing invoices for accuracy and completeness, making sure invoices are paid according to the terms and discounts taken, coding invoices with correct GL numbers, and entering invoices into the computer, printing journals and posting them to the general ledger. Clerk also prepares check printing, then prints, files & prepares for mailing upon approval. Accounts Payable is also responsible for handwritten check entries and payments made on credit cards. Suggests improvements in processes to increase effectiveness. Provides back up for answering phones and helping with customer questions. She/he will also assist the office manager with any other office projects as need to be in sync with company goals on a daily basis. Assist and train staff to effectively use purchase order system. Validate and post inventory adjustments to maintain accurate counts.
Schedule: Full Time, Year Round, Overtime required during peak harvest season
Essential Job Functions: Ideal candidate possesses minimum 3 years related experience, strong interpersonal skills, pleasant telephone skills and the ability to work independently. Pick Your Own Attendent & Clerk
Job Description: Assist and assign customers to picking locations for our Pick Your Own Fruits. Operate retail checkout station including cash receipt and merchandise transfer.
Length of Normal Shift: (in hours) 4-8
Essential Job Functions: Show customers where and how to pick fruit, clean picking containers, make boxes, collect money, and make change. Stock items on displays in a consistent manner according to farm policies.
Job Profile: Check out customers courteously, using the electronic register system in an efficient manner.

Full Time - Orchard & Small Fruits Production Foreman
Job Description:The job involves the supervision of crews and carrying out the various tasks necessary to produce and deliver a high quality fruit crop to market, including but not limited to; pruning, thinning, spraying, mowing, harvesting, packing or processing (cider) of the various fruit and vegetable crops.
Schedule: Full Time, Year Round, Overtime required during peak harvest season
Essential Job Functions: Knowledge of basic horticultural principals as they relate to the growing of fruit and vegetable crops. Tractor driving skills and mechanical abilities as it relates to farm equipment. The ability to supervise employees in fieldwork situations. A pesticide applicators license, and a Connecticut Commercial Drivers License would be preferred, but are not required. There should be a plan to obtain these within a reasonable period of time. Retail Farm Marketing Intern Program

We are seeking interns to work at Bishops Orchards who are looking for hands on experience in management here at our farm market. They will be assisting our management staff with day to day issue including but not limited to personnel, inventory, scheduling, stocking, ordering, customer service etc. Applicants should be able to demonstrate through work, school or other programs that they have a sincere interest in retail marketing and management. Farm Production Intern
Job Description: Assist with production needs in a variety of ways on our 200 acres of farm production.
Length of Normal Shift: (in hours) 8
Essential Job Functions: Hands on farm work. Requires regular lifting, outdoor work, use of equipment and farm machinery. Knowledge and basic experience of farm work are required.
Job Profile: Work with the Production Manager assisting with many aspects of fruit and vegetable production. Ideally suited for the college student majoring in agricultural production.
